Grafted

a tree

“But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree.” – Romans 11:17

What a beautiful image of what you are if Jesus is your Savior! Once upon a time, you were like a wild olive branch growing on a strange, uncultivated tree far from God. Then you trusted in Jesus and God’s grace washed you clean of all your sins. However, His grace did far more than that! In that moment of grace, God removed you from your old wild tree and grafted you into His olive tree. He bound your branch to the nourishing, life-giving root of His tree and you became part of His people.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, you have been grafted into all of God’s people throughout all of time. You are connected to and nourished by the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You are connected to the tree of Moses, David, Peter, and Paul. You’re no longer a wild branch, you are under the careful cultivation of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Rejoice at this!!!

Rejoice that you’re no long disconnected from God. Rejoice that you’re no longer wild. Rejoice that you’ve been adopted by God and merged into His chosen people. Rejoice in the Lord for He has rescued you from the sorrow and unfruitfulness of being a wild olive branch! #FollowJesus
